Biomarkers

Providing expertise in the analysis of biomarkers in preclinical and clinical development.

Biomarkers are now an integral part of industry efforts to streamline drug development. They are increasingly important in helping "go/no go" decisions in early phase preclinical and clinical development, either as indicators of safety or efficacy.

We are able to manage complex biomarker challenges and develop new methods.  Our breadth of capabilities span from biomarker discovery, assay development, validation and sample analysis supporting preclinical and clinical development programmes.

Our biomarker services can be adapted to your drug development, drug surveillance or other clinical research or monitoring needs.

  • Biomarker discovery - including metabonomics and metabolomics and mass spectrometry of the proteome.
  • Method development – feasibility assessment, establishing methods and development. We are experienced with a variety of analytical methodologies, species and matrices.
  • Validation of biomarker methods – validation of both in-house and commercial biomarker methods to GCP/GLP standards.
  • Biomarker quantification – as a measure of dr.g safety or efficacy, or to prove a new drug’s mechanism. We have experience of a range of proteins, peptides, antibodies, small molecules, cytokines – and more.
  • Methods and instrumentation – our cutting-edge labs are equipped with the latest technology, including our unique BioMS™ service, Gyrolab™, and MSD™ as well as electrophoresis, affinity chromatography, mass spectrometry and fluorescence/chemiluminescence/radiolabel techniques.
  • Our experience – we have been pioneering biomarker research for more than 10 years.
