Discovery Support

Quotient Bioresearch’s expertise and capabilities in drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, bioanalytical sciences and microbiology create a unique partner for discovery support. Our flexible approach means rapid turnaround, highly customised studies and a variety of analytical and reporting options.

We are recognised as experts in the provision of discovery support services. Our expert staff can help you at every stage of discovery support from planning to implementation, logistical support to data analysis and reporting.

In vivo pharmacokinetics – we can fully support studies using a wide range of dosing options according to your requirements. Our bioanalytical department can carry out a range of analyses providing quick, reliable results to help you make the right decisions

Pharmacokinetic analysis - pharmacokintetic analysis can be undertaken on studies we perform or can be conducted as stand-alone projects

Candidate selection - we can support blood-brain barrier penetration studies, hepatic portal vein canulation, tissue distribution studies, metabolite profiling and identification, in vitro screening and toxicity studies. We also have the experience, technology and flexibility to develop bespoke studies to your needs

In vitro metabolism – a range of rapid and flexible assays designed to assist with candidate lead optimisation. These studies are supported by automated microplate methods and dedicated UPLC-MS/MS analytical support:

  • CYP450 inhibition – human liver microsomes and/or cDNA CYP450 enzymes, single concentration ±TDI
  • Metabolic stability – microsomes or hepatocytes (can be conducted with a metabolite identification screen)
  • In vitro toxicity – effects of test compounds on primary cells and/or cell lines
  • Plasma protein binding – using non-radiolabelled test compounds
  • Permeability – either PAMPA and/or Caco-2 monolayer methods
